Thursday night after I got home from work we went to the KTTC Lights @ Bluff Valley. It was basically just a ride on a trailer pulled by a truck through a light show and then you could get out and play in a light maze. The show was mediocre. Josh enjoyed it which was only a taste of what was to come when we go to Walt Disney World during Christmas. Josh is going to love that. Only problem with the light show - besides the fact that Josh got sick of it after first half and second half was about entertaining him until we got home - was of course the fact Josh had to sit on the end right up next to the truck. Inhaling diesel fumes during the show gave me a severe headache.

After the show, we played in the light maze which Josh thought was pretty fun. We would go ahead in the maze and 'hide' from and call for Josh - he thought it was the greatest. He'd come sprinting, laughing, and looking for us. Very, very fun for Mom and I - we love to hear him laugh. We actually didn't even make it through the light maze. We were lost - I was determined to find the way out - but then Josh stopped, stood frozen with a look of determination on his face. That could only mean one thing - poop. Since we were 20 miles+ from home and he is currently battling a bit of a rash on his butt right now, I knew we'd have to change his diaper there. After getting inside, I was saddened to see that the bathrooms in this joint made truck stops look like four star hotels. I used a paper towel and wiped the floor where I was going to lay his mat down. We did pretty good and got out of there okay with out too much slop on us.

Friday night was nothing spectacular, but there are a couple funny things I wanted to comment on. Mom was calling me at work several times from 3-5 which I know means Josh is giving her all she could handle. I came home around 5:20 and Josh was up on his step stool trying to wash all his bottles...stretching with every fiber of his body to reach the bottles which are just out of his reach. Since he just fell off this step stool and smashed his head against the cupboards the other day, you'd think he'd be more cautious but no. Anyway, we made dinner and were eating and Josh was pretty riled up still - having a hard time focusing on eating his food. Then he started picking up his plate like he was going to throw it - as far as I know, this has not happened yet - we warned you. Then he threw his sippy off the highchair. So we told him no, then took the sippy out of reach. Here comes the 'funny' part. Josh then proceeded to throw his fork off the table, and I 'yelled' NOO! Wasn't mad at all, just trying to scare him or something...Josh froze in his tracks, shot Mom a look for confidence and she reinforced my 'no' by shaking her head. Then Mom told me how she makes Josh pick things up when he throws them, so I took him out of his highchair and put him on the floor, still scolding a bit, and told him to hand it to me. Josh grabbed the fork and mustered up his most sincere 'deet doh' - (thank you) can't even spell it the way he says it :) - and Mom and I had to do all we could not to start laughing. It was pretty damn cute.

Only other comment, is when I put Josh to bed, he loves the routine now of grabbing his own blanket, closing the door, and running over to me with the bottle (of course we have to have Mom turn the lights off after you make it back to me). Then Josh drinks his bottle and pushes it away when he is done. I ask him if he was finished and he 'half excitedly' chirp "Yea!" (because he was tired now)...so I told him it is night-night time and take him to his crib. I ask him for a kiss - which in pitch black is always a challenge since I don't know where his lips are up but we manage, and Josh is always puckered up because he loves to do this. So I kiss him, lay his blanket over the top and as I'm about to leave, he proudly (it is his new word you know) say 'BYE!'...I chuckle as I walk out of his room. Truly one of my more relaxing, enjoyable moments of the day is putting him to bed (since I don't get to spend all day with him).
