Bob's Helper (Post Entry)

Saturday, 1 October 2005 14:33 by Terry Aney

Well this entry is after the fact. But about this time, Josh started saying a few words and 'Ba' (Bob) was one of his firsts. Josh worships Bob Tougas, who is a contractor who does work on our house. He's constantly following him around picking up anything he sets down (i.e. screwdriver, tape measure, etc.) and immediately handing it back to him. It's pretty damn funny and Bob does a very good job of tolerating him as well.

Now (February 2006), Josh is much more advanced. He proudly takes people to show them what Bob has been working on (be it our bathroom, his bedroom, or my office) and point to each thing and say 'Bob, work!'. Another 'stunt' he is pulling lately is whenever Josh has something that can be used to 'hit stuff' (i.e. drum stick, spoon, play hammer, etc.) he pounds it a few times...then just about the time I would tell him to be gentle and not pound things, Josh says 'Bob!'. It's too cute to scold after that when he's so excited to be like Bob. Another thing Josh likes to do is walk around with your play hammer pounding hard on the walls and saying 'Bob...bix' (Bob, fix), again his is too cute and too proud of himself to scold. I just have to remember to keep the real hammers out of his hands.
