Our Baby Girl's One!

Saturday, 10 February 2007 17:00 by Ann Aney

Audrey turned 1 a few days ago. Grandpa and Grandma Hennen hosted the event which was super nice. Audrey loved her pink cake (which Joshua and Grandma made from scratch), but hated her birthday hat. I accidentally snapped the chin strap against her neck right before we sang Happy Birthday – OUCH!! She recovered pretty quick though, especially when we put the cake on her plate to dig into. (watch Birthday video) Audrey also graciously let Joshua help her open all of her presents which was so nice. I don’t think she will next year though.

Overall, I can’t believe how fast the year went. It just seems like yesterday that we were coming home from the hospital. There are so many milestones that baby’s go through the first year and when you make it to their first birthday, it feels so good that you and they made it through it. It’s kind of a bitter sweet moment. I admit that life got hectic and chaotic at times this past year with an infant and toddler, but, I wouldn’t trade any moment of it for the world. It has been so much fun watching our children grow and the love they have given me is one of the best and most rewarding feelings I’ve ever known.

Baby Girl

You arrived on February 2nd, 2006,

And, our family changed forever with a little girl in the mix.

You are sweet and precious,

Just like I imagined you’d be.

And you have been blessed with some of the most beautiful eyelashes,

That I’ve ever seen.

Our house is now filled with all sorts of pinks and pastels.

But, more importantly, it’s filled with a little angel.

I can’t believe how fast times flies by!

Your first year has gone by in a blink of an eye.

Happy Birthday Audrey Jeaner

Coffee Beaner!

Xoxoxo, Mommy
